Well, as you’ll know if you’ve been following the ol’ blog at all, I’ve taken April off work to finish Necromancer’s Betrayal. Set myself the target of writing four pages a day. As well as wanting to finish the book in time for the summer, it’s also a bit of an experiment to see if I could hack the fulltime author lifestyle.
How’s it going? Successfully so far. Written 20 pages in the last five days (Mon-Fri). For a while, I was worried that the quality of the material would suffer writing at such a tempo. But my own judgement says it’s fine and that’s been confirmed by my excitable friend Kate Alcock, who’s reading each chapter as it’s completed.
I’ve nearly finished chapter 12 out of 15 and reckon I’ll have finished chp 14 by end of April (14 is the big showdown chapter, of course). And I need to phone my literary agent next week to discuss options and timelines!
