Oh for crying out loud. Now the BBC are putting out spin in the form of news stories about Karen Gillian perhaps being the sexiest assistant of all time.
Is it because episode 2 got 6.7 million viewers, while episode 3 got 6.2 million despite featuring the Daleks? Is it because figures are sure to be even further down for episode 4? Worrying trend. Quick! Better sex things up!
Look, Amy Pond only seems wide-eyed and engaging (girl next door) cos she’s a far better actor than Matt Smith. It’s the contrast that makes her shine so. She upstaged him in Victory of the Daleks (episode 3) despite clearly going to some pains to avoid doing so. In fact, even the new Daleks – who look like a cross between Fiat cars and Geoshock watches (with colours from the United Colours of Benetton) – upstaged poor all Matt. Victory for the Daleks in more ways than one, then.
For crying out loud BBC, stop trying to play with our minds. ‘Positive thinking’ won’t improve the current Dr Who package. A bit of honesty might. Oh, and the new script writer is struggling. Episode 3 should clearly have been a double-header: you can’t have Daleks in a British uniform, Bramwell the android (if that’s his name), the Progenitor, a new species of Dalek, Churchill and planes in space all in one 45-minute episode. Complete overload and melt down. And what was the refrain of the new Daleks? Hmm.
