A low-budget British horror movie which is a cut above the usual, this one. That’s probably why they managed to get Tim McInnery (Captain Darling from Blackadder) to star in it.
It’s about the staff of a weapons manufacturer on a team-building weekend in Hungary/Romania/Serbia. They end up at a dump of a lodge in the woods and are promptly set upon by paramilitary types. There are a good number of jokes along the way (most of which work), there’s an interesting look at narrative and myth creation (as we find out about what the lodge might once have been used for) and some modern role-reversal (the women do the killing and save the men, rather than viceversa).
I enjoyed it anyway, even though I don’t tend to go for horror. 8/10
